
Having business experience of more than 35 years, Farouk has wide exposure in assurance, tax and management consultancy services. He has worked with high technology, leisure industry, electronics manufacturing and distribution clients with significant foreign operations, He graduated from the Cairo University and is a Certified Public Accountant (Egypt), Fellow of the Association of Certified Public Accountants (UK), Fellow of the Institute of CPA Ireland and Fellow Member of Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants CPA(US), Certified Financial Consultant and Member of the Institute of Financial Consultant (MIFC), Canada.

Hisham joined Grant Thornton Dubai in 1999 where he began in the audit department gaining extensive experience in the audit various industries and varied exposure to the different sectors in the UAE. He further extended his knowledge and skills into the consulting sector where he has participated and headed numerous consultancy projects, including feasibility studies, valuation exercises, due diligence, long form reports and various business plans. He went on to develop Grant Thornton’s specialist Hospitality and Tourism consulting division in joint alliance with Grant Thornton South Africa to offer hospitality related consulting for the region.
Hisham completed his BA at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. He continued his professional education to attain a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Finance, from the American University in London. With his long-standing international relation and support, Hisham is Grant Thornton’s UAE International Practice Partner.

Bernard joined the UAE firm recently from Grant Thornton UK, where he has spent the last 3 years. Prior to that Bernard spent 12 years with Deloitte & Touche in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the UK. He is a member of the Zimbabwe institute of chartered accountants. He has experience in auditing, specializing in financial, manufacturing, and service sectors. Other areas of expertise include US audit and financial reporting, UK Financial Services Authority (FSA) compliance reviews, and PPP/PFI reviews and accounting evaluation.
Bernard completed his articles with Deloitte & Touche in Zimbabwe and rose through the ranks to Senior Manager in 2000 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. He joined Deloitte & Touche LLP in the UK in 2001 and has held various senior audit roles with the firm and later Grant Thornton. During this period Bernard spent 18 months seconded to the Financial Services Practice of Deloitte UK, providing audit services and FSA compliance reviews.

Raza holds a BA (hons) Accounting and Financial Management degree from the University of Sheffield, UK and is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, UK.
Raza has extensive experience in the audit of diverse industries including IT, service and manufacturing, focusing on large, multi-national, private and public companies. He has very strong technical ability, with proficiency in both UK GAAP and IFRS, and regularly gets involved in special projects including GAAP conversion exercises, transaction services, including IPOs and due diligence assignments. Raza was also seconded on a large forensic assignment during his time in the UK, gaining experience in areas such as fraud and auditor negligence litigation.

Zakaria holds a B Com (Hons) Accounting Degree from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants In England (Wales) and is a member of the United Arab Emirates Accountants & Auditors Association.
He began his career at Grant Thornton in the Johannesburg branch. After completing his traineeship at the firm he went on to becoming a manager within the external audit division. After spending sometime as a manager, he was promoted to partner level.
Zakaria has extensive audit experience within the retail, manufacturing, mining and insurance sectors. He was involved in various large assignments both at the private and publicly listed level. His strong technical background allows him to get involved in various assignments such as the conversion from local GAAP to IFRS as well as due diligence assignments.

Mandeep holds a
Bachelors Honors Degree in Mathematics from Panjab University, India
and has completed his MBA with specialization in Organization
Behavior and Organization Development.
Mandeep has over 11 years of experience across consulting and line
functions. He has assisted clients across a range of business and HR
issues like business plan, organizational development initiatives
like career development, competency assessment, culture studies,
leadership development etc. He is also one of the foremost experts
in the field of Employee Engagement having completed over 400
assignments in around 21 countries.
In his past experience, he has lead Talent Management at Bharti Airtel (India's leading telecom service provider) and the Employee Listening vertical at Hewitt. He has also managed international markets during his stint at Hewitt Associates.
Mandeep
previously was in Grant Thornton's India office where he was
responsible for a variety of high profile consulting assignments.

His role involves business development, management and carrying out of consultancy service projects in the United Arab Emirates, and the wider Middle East.
Grant transferred from the South African office of Grant Thornton where he was responsible for a variety of high profile consulting assignments. Amongst others he was involved in providing consulting services relating to the planning for the FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup. These services included economic impact assessments and business planning for the stadia.
In early 2007 he established the Hospitality & Tourism Consulting
Division at Grant Thornton UAE in Dubai and has grown this business
to become a formidable player in the region. In 1988 Grant started
career with Holiday Inn in Cape Town, in 1990 he moved to The Fedics
Group in Johannesburg, in 2003 he joined Grant Thornton Tourism
Hospitality & Leisure in South Africa as Senior Consultant and in
2007 moved to Grant Thornton Hospitality & Tourism Consulting in
Dubai as General Manager.
